Fluid:Creosote Oil

└ Module: Core

Description

In order to preserve Wooden Ties against rot and decay, we need to coat them with Creosote Oil. The particular properties of this oil derived from Coal or Wood helps to waterproof and protect wood against many forms of insects and bacteria that would otherwise destroy it in short order.

Creosote Oil is obtained by cooking Coal or Wood in a Coke Oven. It is basically a free byproduct of the process, but you will need multiple Ovens to produce it in quantity.

Creosote Oil can be drained into Buckets or Bottles. If you have Forestry installed, it can be placed in Cans and Capsules as well.

In 10.3.0 and above, creosote oil can be used to brew creosote potion, which damages arthropods at the same rate as the poison effect damages players. The creosote effect, however, can kill arthropods. Entity in creosote oil will get a short period of creosote effect, too. When an arthropod attacks another entity with creosote effect, the effect will transfer onto that arthropod.
